Sounds high fallutin' but heh, my grandfather created the trigger for the atomic bomb. Couldn't we try to create a balm? Wouldn't it be amazing to drop that balm in whatever area needed it most. A central station could get the alert that a lot of negative energy was brewing in a zone - Syria, lower east side NYC, you name it - and we could respond by triggering a release of a soothing, calming balm.
Unfortunately I am not a scientist, just a dreamer. But certainly, there are a lot of studies of waves by scientists, emotions by psychologists, and countless compositions, films, novels addressing those emotions. Couldn't we combine those achievements and come up with a balm.
As an amateur pianist, I have always been fascinated by the satisfaction one can pull from 8 notes, shifts from dissonance to harmony, a sense of returning home. As a professional dancer, I felt a little adrift not having the same assurance that a composer has, working with a centuries proven musical theory. Love in the times of Corona should give us the insight to know what chord we should play to make everyone sigh and relax, to ripple a wave of positive energy until it's unstoppable.
